Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to initiate large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are anticipated, with the company planning to disclose complete information in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Earlier reports suggested the firm was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

By December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented to a request for comment.
